Hello hello and Happy Wednesday! Today I wanted to share with you a really embarrassing/funny story that happened to me while I was out taking these pictures. Are you ready for this?
So over this weekend it was really gloomy and cloudy, like I mentioned in Monday’s post. I was SO excited for the gloomy weather because it would be perfect for me to go take some pictures. I got all ready, and my sister and I headed out to take some pictures. We went to this beautiful park that is about 20 minutes away from my house. When we got to the park, there was NO PARKING. Like at all. It just so happened that there was an event at the park that day, so it was jam packed. We went to three different parking lots and I couldn’t find a spot, so finally I said “Okay, this is the last lot I am looking in. If there isn’t a spot we are leaving!” Lucky for us, there was one spot… so I snagged it.
After finally finding a spot, we started our trek up to where the water was at the park (about a mile away from where I parked). The walk there wasn’t too bad, and we finally got up to the water. The clouds were rolling in, but we started taking pictures anyways. (I mean, we didn’t go all the way out there for nothing). There was no rain, no sprinkles… nothing. So we are taking pictures for about 30 minutes and we saw some lightning in the distance and decided we better leave.
We started walking back to the car and it starts sprinkling. My first thought was “Oh no! My brand new suede wedges!” We started walking a little faster, then out of NOWHERE it literally starts dumping rain. Like so so much rain. I look down and my wedges were just drenched. I was so concerned about my wedges, I totally forgot that I was wearing a white dress. And it was raining. Hard.
Well, I am sure you all can imagine what that looked like. Now just imagine me in my white dress and wedges RUNNING through the rain. It was coming down so hard, guys. Then to top it off, it starts HAILING!!! It was hitting my legs and hurt sooo bad. I felt like we were never going to make it to my car. Finally, we did make it and my sister and I got into my car and looked at each other. Makeup was running down our faces, my car was sopping wet, my dress was totally see through, and my poor shoes were ruined! We looked like we jumped in a pool and then got straight into my car. Oh, and my purse was like a pool of water. Everything in it was soaked too.
I felt so bad for my sister (she had a date after pictures, and we both pretty much looked like death). But anyways, that was my weekend! It is funny thinking back on it, but it was horrible in the moment! And so humiliating to be running around in a wet white dress and wedges!
I hope you enjoyed my story! Do any of you have embarrassing stories you are willing to share? I’d love to hear them in the comments below!
Side note: My car seats were wet for the next couple days!
