Tanner: LaBoom | Tan Extender: LaBoom | Mitt: Laboom
I have always had a love-hate relationship with self tanners. I love being tan, but definitely don’t want to bake out in the sun, so I use self tanners. I have tried multiple different kinds that left me orange, blotchy, and very very stinky. Recently I was able to test out a new tanning product- LaBoom. I wanted to tell you a little bit about my experience.
BEFORE THE TAN
Any time before I tan I exfoliate and shave. Exfoliating sloughs off all the dead skin and leaves an even surface for you to apply your tan. I try not to shave after I have my tan on so that it lasts longer. Immediately after showering I put lotion on my feet, ankles, knees, elbows and wrists. This helps so that the tan doesn’t build up too much on those spots.
APPLYING THE TAN
To apply the tan I use LaBoom’s tanning mit so that it doesn’t get on my hands. I apply it in small circular motions to avoid streaks. I love that LaBoom is colored so that you can see if you have missed any spots. Pay extra attention to areas like behind the knees and the backs of your arms! I usually wait a few minutes before getting dressed just to let the tan set. I always apply my tan before bed and just throw a t-shirt on after because you don’t want to wear tight clothing immediately after!
AFTER THE TAN
When I wake up in the morning I shower to rinse the excess tan off. Don’t use a loofah or anything that will exfoliate your skin because you don’t want to mess up your tan. After my shower I use my Shimmer Tan Extender.
WHY TRY LABOOM?
As I mentioned above, I have tried many many self tanners. A few things stood out to me about LaBoom. First, the smell! I can’t even begin to tell you how pleasantly surprised I was that LaBoom didn’t smell like other self-tanners. The ONLY time I got the tiniest whiff of the tanner smell was when I showered, but even then it was the slightest smell. I hate the smell of most self tanners and if it has a strong scent, I can’t use it! I was so happy that this doesn’t stink. Next, there are three different types of tanner to choose from- lotion, mousse or spray. I personally like the lotion because it keeps me moisturized better than using a mousse, but some people love mousses. It’s just a personal preference. Lastly, the color! I love the color that I got from LaBoom. I had a nice bronzed tan and it WAS NOT orange at all! The color was subtle enough that it doesn’t look fake, but it definitely gives my skin a sun-kissed glow.
If you have been on the hunt for a self tanner, I would recommend trying LaBoom’s products!
